Slug Catcher for Phases 4 & 5 of South Pars (Completed)

Project Description

The Construction of the Slug Catcher for South Pars Phases 4 and 5 project was implemented to separate and manage liquids carried with the incoming gas stream from offshore transmission pipelines and to provide stable and safe feed conditions for downstream gas processing units. The project scope includes engineering and design, procurement of equipment and materials, fabrication and installation of the Slug Catcher system, construction of pipelines and process connections, installation of valves and control equipment, execution of supporting structures and auxiliary facilities, electrical and instrumentation systems, as well as technical testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities. By receiving the multiphase gas and liquid stream from the transmission pipelines, the Slug Catcher enables the separation and collection of sudden liquid surges (slugs), stabilization of the incoming flow, prevention of excessive liquid carryover into downstream equipment, and protection of the gas processing units. By enhancing the safety and stability of gas transmission and processing, reducing operational fluctuations, and protecting downstream equipment, the project plays an important role in improving operational reliability and ensuring continuous production in South Pars Phases 4 and 5.
