Project Description

The growing need to reduce industrial carbon emissions and improve resource efficiency has accelerated the development of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technologies across the energy and petrochemical sectors. One of the most promising applications of captured carbon dioxide is its reuse as a valuable feedstock in the production of urea. In this project, CO₂ is recovered from industrial flue gas streams through capture, purification, compression, and conditioning processes, enabling it to be reused as a primary feedstock in urea production. The recovered carbon dioxide reacts with ammonia within the urea synthesis process, converting an otherwise emitted greenhouse gas into a commercially valuable petrochemical product. Integrating CO₂ capture and recovery systems with ammonia and urea production facilities can significantly reduce direct carbon emissions while improving resource utilization and supporting the development of lower-carbon fertilizer production. This approach also contributes to circular carbon management by transforming industrial emissions into productive feedstock. Paydar Poolad Pishro is developing integrated engineering solutions for the recovery and utilization of industrial CO₂, covering process studies, technology selection, engineering design, equipment procurement, and project implementation. Through these initiatives, the company aims to create economic value from carbon streams while supporting the transition of Iran’s petrochemical industry toward lower-carbon production, improved energy efficiency, and sustainable industrial development.
