The growing demand for improved hydrocarbon recovery, combined with the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has increased the importance of advanced carbon management technologies in the oil and gas industry. Many mature oil fields experience declining reservoir pressure and reduced production efficiency, making enhanced oil recovery techniques increasingly important for maximizing the value of remaining reserves. In CO₂ Enhanced Oil Recovery (CO₂-EOR), carbon dioxide recovered from industrial emission sources is captured, purified, compressed, transported, and injected into suitable oil reservoirs under controlled operating conditions. Injected CO₂ can interact with reservoir fluids by reducing oil viscosity, promoting oil swelling, improving fluid mobility, and enhancing displacement efficiency. Under appropriate reservoir pressure, temperature, and fluid composition, CO₂ may also become miscible with crude oil, further improving hydrocarbon recovery.
