The CO₂ Recovery from Flue Gas Streams and Utilization for Increasing Methanol Production Capacity at Fanavaran Petrochemical Complex project is being implemented to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, recover carbon dioxide from industrial flue gas streams, and convert it into a valuable feedstock for increasing methanol production capacity. The project scope includes process studies and engineering, design and construction of the CO₂ capture and recovery unit, CO₂ purification and compression, installation of transfer pipelines and piping networks, procurement and installation of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, integration of the carbon recovery system with the existing methanol production process, as well as pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. In this process, CO₂ contained in flue gas streams is captured, purified, and conditioned to meet the required process specifications before being routed as a carbon feedstock to the methanol production unit. Reusing recovered carbon dioxide not only reduces direct CO₂ emissions to the atmosphere but also improves feedstock utilization and enables an increase in methanol production capacity.
